Yep, you read the title correctly!! Our 3.5 week old child has 2 teeth coming in. I noticed them yesterday, as she has been a bit fussy the past 2 days. She isn't generally a fussy girl, and during one crying spell, I saw what appeared to be two white spots on her gum lines. After further inspection (with clean fingers-I promise), I felt the hard teeth. I was a bit weirded out by it, so called Mimi and looked it up. Apparently, there is such thing as Natal teeth, but they are really uncommon! From what I read, having front Natal teeth is somewhere around 1:2000, and of those cases, only 3% are molars. Most common are the bottom front two. Natals almost always come in pairs too!
I called the doctor today to make sure it wasn't anything I needed to be worried about, and they said to just keep an eye on them, and if a fever appears to call them as something more might be going on!
This little girl of ours needs to slow down her growing up!
