Jan 20-Kirk had shoulder surgery where they shaved off 8mm of his collar bone and removed 7 bone spurs. He is recovering well, but really ready to get out of his sling. He has physical therapy 3 times a week and the therapist is positive about his prognosis. We go back to the shoulder doctor on March 1.
We have spent most of the time since surgery at the house. It's been GREAT to be home with my two love-bugs. I have been quite busy here, since Kirk really can't do much with his arm imobalized. I have a daily routine of cleaning out and keeping the buck stove stocked with wood (we are so lucky to have Uncle Gary to keep our wood pile abundant while Kirk can't chop wood!); feeding the dogs, the guinea birds, peacocks, Kirk's mice, and my pig (yep-I have a pot-belly if you didn't already know); and keeping the house running cleanly. All that happens in the short spurts of time that I am not staring at or feeding our beautiful daughter. Speaking of feeding, Amelia does not miss out on her share of milk! I weighed her on Monday, and she now weighs 11lbs 4.5oz!! Special thanks to PopPop for the awesome scale! I can now see how much she eats by weighing her before and after each feeding, which will make it easier for Mama to know how much to thaw out for bottles when I go back to work.
We went to mine & Amelia's very first auction last Friday night! It was interesting to experience, and we will probably go back this week (I hear the guy who will be selling this time has $15 California King sheet sets!!). This month brings lots of plans, including, my return to work :-(, our annual night at the rodeo (which was Kirk & my first date 4 yrs ago), a friends 1st birthday party, AJ's 2 month appointment, cheering on Uncle Maxie in the ACC swim meet, and most importantly----GRAMMY & GRAMPS' VISIT!!!!!
Ok, enough of the words...on to the pictures!
Yep, at 6 weeks she is already wanting to sit up...so we let her sit in the bumbo for a few minutes here and there. She is getting pretty good at it!
The other night, she was asleep and looked like she was singing into a microphone!
Snoozing on her Mema when she came to visit, and showing off her bright eyes one morning!
Mama's new favorite shirt! The hairbow holder I made to showcase all the pretty bows!
Blowing kisses from her carseat. Snuggling with Raffi (she wrapped her arm around him all by herself!)
I wanted a stick family for my car....but couldn't have something everyone else has!
We will end this post with a sleepy smile from the little lady!
